I like the new ship/class design, except they don't really look like ships that can be modified very easily. I think one of the best parts about Elite and Frontier Elite 2 is that you can modify and customize any ship you buy, regardless of what class the ship is (trader, fighter, etc). And the ship designs seemed to support this - they looked like empty shells you could load up with different kinds of equipment. These new ships look hermetically sealed with "no user serviceable parts inside".
