16 JUL 3301 COMMANDER SONG. MIN GI VESSEL DESIGNATION : ACH-0426-WSN, "THE AGGRESSOR" Officers log, july 16th, year 3301. Finally stamped out the civil war in the Carverda system. Celebrated with the officers in the conference room. Senator Duval's power struggle continues and i have been requested to defend fringe systems against enemy undermining efforts. Personally I don't give a crap about political powerplays, but Imperial transport ships are being shot down and that cannot be allowed. Fuel reserves just enough to bring me into the Pancienses system. Before my arrival at the closest station to refuel, the interdiction alarms went off. My crew and i were suffering from travel fatigue and were not able to avoid interdiction. We were pulled out of Super Cruise and once the ship's stabilizer thrusters stopped the lateral spin, the enemy came into view. An Anaconda class light cruiser, a Python class patrol cruiser and a Fer De Lance heavy fighter. The odds were three to one. It was the first fair fight I've had in months. The order was given to the technicians to divert all power from the engine to systems and shields, leaving whatever power left to the pulse lasers. The first target that came into view was the Anaconda class light cruiser. I knew the ship well, and its weaknesses. Before i was finished analyzing my situation, the second lieutenant informed me that scans show that the Anaconda is poorly equipped. Before I was able to tell the gun crew to target the powerplant, we had already disabled its shields. The enemy captain evidently realized that he was outmatched and began to turn and flee. Normally I would've given the order to divert power to engines to run him down, but there were two more ships to deal with. The Fer de Lance is still out of guns range, and that left the Python class patrol cruiser. I was confident because now that the Anaconda cruiser is out of the question, we out class them in every way. Sure enough, after a short exchange of fire, the python and the Fer de Lance retreated into Super Cruise with the Anaconda cruiser. To give chase is out of the question as the fuel reserves are dangerously low, being stranded and having to contact the Fuel Rates would be too much of a disgrace for an officer of the Imperial Navy. Thus we made our way to the closest station to refuel. Once the ship had been refueled, order was given to immediately launch back into Super Cruise to chase the Federation Commanders out of the system. Minutes later, the Fer de Lance showed up on the ship sensors. Immediately The Aggressor was on its tail, just as the interdiction system was about to activate, our own interdiction alarm sounded. We were under interdiction from a Federal Agent. Of course the agent vessel itself is of no consequence, it can be destroyed as easily as a fly is swatted from the wall, but it made me agitated in that it interrupted my hunt. After swiftly dealing with the Agent, we successfully interdicted the Fer de Lance. Immediately into subspace, all guns were deployed and the pulse lasers opened fire. This was no time for negotiation, i was assigned a duty and by the Emperor i will do it. The Fer de Lance diverted power to engines and began to run. The Aggressor is a fine cruiser, but it is not swift. I knew i could never hope to catch the Fer de Lance, and thus while it pained me i was forced to parley with the Federation Commanders. I asked them to remove their presence from Senator Lavigny Duval's systems or I shall continue to hunt them down. They complied and soon left the system. The first day of re-assignment was rather fruitful, and may I continue to serve the Empires interests.
