One little thing that bothers the living crap out of me is the lack of Transponder ID's for ships. This was something that they had sorted back in the 80s in the elite games. Ships had actual registration codes rather then just displaying what make of craft it was ( thinking Elite: Frontier here). It was the little things like this that set is out from other space games like Epic. What i would like to see is instead of having "Sidewinder" in the contacts screen, seeing "ATX-359" or something, and when targeted/selected the right-hand ship model screen displaying the targets "noise" until the targets is scanned, then showing the ship class in the info, then replacing the noise line with the ship model. It would also make assassination mission more like they used to be with you being told to go out and hit ship by reg "xyz". It ment you never knew what class of ship you were looking for or who was flying it until you met them. i know this will never happen but a man can dream :)
