Hi Explorers :) My faithful Asp just crossed the “equator” – the 25 900 line on which Sag. A* is located. And I thought it is a good time for a summary of my journey so far. So… (long read) My travel plan: When I left the colonized space I intended to make a big loop around Sag. A* and achieve following goals: To become Elite Explorer upon return. And also to become rich :cool: To find at least one previously unexplored planet and star of each type in existence To find the biggest and heaviest stars in the Galaxy. I quickly realized this one will be almost impossible to achieve so I modified it to: get my name in the Book of Records by finding something interesting and record braking. My progress so far: Left the bubble on July 14th. My current location is on the equator line east of Sag. A*. Progressing slowly due to two factors: I cant play every day due to real life restrictions; this first part of my journey was dedicated to scientific research and exploration. I am scanning the Galactic sector ahead of me to find interesting objects, then I try to create a route so I visit as many of them as possible. Which results in a zigzagging line going in all directions :). In addition, I spent a lot of time scanning every single gas giant I find along the way. I was doing this because I was trying to find Helium Rich GG but didn’t know how it looks like and in what kind of systems it can be found so I scanned everything. The progress on my initial goals: To become Elite – in progress. Seems achievable Found almost everything. What left is M I red supergiant and Carbon C star To find something record braking – this is progressing better than expected. So far I found more than 20 record braking stars/planets. Most interesting: Heaviest class B blue supergiant; biggest class B blue supergiant (these are two different stars) Other types of objects I found so far (all previously undiscovered): ELW – 21 AW – 31 Water Worlds – 107 Water Worlds (TC) – 74 Rocky (TC) – 5 Helium Rich GG – 5 Black Holes - 10 Neutron Stars - 61 White Dwarfs - 43 Wolf-Rayets - 20 First 24 days of my trip are not document so that data is not included. My hull is at 92%, many systems damaged and my Automated Repair Unit depleted. With ¾ of my planned route still ahead I need to be very careful from now on. What next? I am heading towards a nearby nebula. Will make a stop there to scan areas around me for Carbon C stars and M I supergiants. Then I will go north of the Sag A* towards the western edge of the galaxy. Some thoughts and observations: Carbon C and M I are driving me crazy. I cant believe they are so fraking rare and hard to find. Do they exist at all? M I is a especially frustrating problem. There are tons of M IIIs but not a single one M I? In reality K I should be far less common than M I but in Elite it seems to be opposite. I found 5-6 K Is and not a single M I. Have no idea how and where to look for those. Yellow supergiants should be the rarest stars in the galaxy but they seem to be quite common. Not sure why Star Forge made M I rarer than yellow supergiants… Star Forge has a special love for binary systems. Two ELW orbiting each other? Also two Water Worlds. And what not. Two huge gas giants orbiting each other with another pair of huge GGs also orbiting each other…and these two pairs orbiting around their common center of gravity. I don’t believe this type of systems could exist in reality, not to mention to be so common. Cheers, Cmdr Pirin
